ABOUT CLAUDIA

Claudia Skowron is the owner and founder of CST Counseling and Consultation. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor and holds a CADC certification. Claudia earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University, graduating summa cum laude. With a broad range of experience, Claudia has worked in diverse treatment settings, including inpatient mental health, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient programs (PHP/IOP), community mental health, and private practice. Additionally, she has expertise in handling high-profile cases, business consultation, and workplace dynamics.

Claudia’s therapeutic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, strength-based techniques, and psychoeducational coaching. She adopts an eclectic approach, recognizing that different methods may resonate with different clients. As she explains, “An approach that works for one individual may not be effective for another; my role as a therapist is to meet clients where they are and tailor interventions accordingly.” Claudia is committed to ongoing professional development, regularly attending conferences and training to stay current with emerging treatment modalities, and she also enjoys mentoring aspiring clinicians.

Claudia specializes in working with adolescents, young adults, young couples, and adults, with a particular focus on individuals navigating transitional life phases, such as college, career changes, and work-life balance. She believes that “Life will be full of stressors and transitions, and our job is to come prepared to navigate them.”

Claudia has presented at the Illinois Association of Behavioral Health Conference and has been interviewed on various podcasts, including Feeding Curiosity. She has been featured in The Waiting Room Magazine as a “Top Counselor” and is a member of the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare and the American Psychological Association.
